The Tea Haus

I discovered a wonderful new store yesterday....The Tea Haus...check it out!

They have every type of tea imaginable and some of the sweetest tea pots ever!

Iced Green Tea
1. Bring 1 litre of filtered water to approx. 80 degrees Celsius.
2. In a teapot, steep 10 teaspoons of Kyoto Cherry Rose Green Tea for 4 minutes.
3. Fill a jug or container with ice cubes (the jug should hold 2 litres).
4. Add 3-4 slices of lemon.
5. Add 3-4 tablespoons of maple syrup or liquid cane sugar to sweeten.
6. Filter the leaves and pour the hot tea into the jug. Most of the ice will melt and that chills the tea.
7. Pour the iced tea into tall glass and enjoy!!

My Cute Poppy Puppy!

This is my puppy "Poppy's" new day time home. A great big honking kennel that sits in my already too small kitchen/creative space. I had to rearrange the furniture in order to get it to fit. Unfortunately Poppy, has proven that she needs a kennel if she is to be left alone while we are at work or out. Why? Because my cute little Poppy who is now 8 months old has managed to.....

Chew up....three of my hand made pillows, my husbands sneakers,
48 bottles of water, 4 packs of pringles chips, my best umbrella,

my crocs, two bags of new art supplies, my rug that I was currently corking,

My corker, several pairs of socks, a piece of our flooring, a baseboard,

a bag of clothes pegs, a mattress cover, my husbands antique bank, my circle of friends candle holder, one basket of my cookie cutter collection basket and all, two of my books, and a variety of other miscellaneous items. Oh Poppy is a bad Puppy.

My Dream Bike!

I was strolling down the street the other day and happened to glance in the window of a bike shop and was stopped in my tracks by this beauty! Look past the dirty plate glass windows and admire with me the vintage style, big butt seat, basket, bell, custom paint job with daisies! I am in love! The store was closed, but I will return and hopefully this summer I will have a bike like this to ride!

MMMM Muffins!

I made some muffins the other day....I found the recipe on $5 Dinners.....http://www.5dollardinners.com/2009/01/rosemary-orange-chicken.html

I made Carrott Cranberry Muffins, here is the recipe below!

Veggie/Fruit Muffins

Ingredients
1 cup flour 3 T canola oil
1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup mashed or grated fruit or veggie ***See ideas below!
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. In bowl, combine eggs, oil, sugar and mashed fruit or veggie. Whisk. Mix well.
3. Add flour, baking soda, baking powder and cinnamon. Mix until it forms into batter. I use my hand mixer beaters. Add nuts if you like.
4. Pour into muffin cups like this.
5. Mini muffins: Bake 8-10 minutes. Regular muffins: Bake 15-2o minutes. Tops will turn golden. 6. Cool on cooling rack and then serve

* Flour: I recommend using 1/2 cup whole wheat flour and 1/2 cup white flour for the 1 cup flour requirement.
** Oil: If I double the recipe, then I will use 1/3 cup applesauce and 1/3 cup canola oil instead of 2/3 cup canola oil.
***Fruits and Veggies: 1 cup mashed banana, 1 cup grated apple, 1 cup squash and 1 cup grated apple (double the recipe), 1 cup grated carrots (add 1/2 cup raisins if you like), 1 cup peeled and grated zucchini, 1 cup blueberries, 1 cup bananas and 1 cup strawberries (double the recipe)...or 1 cup of any other veggie you like...just mash or grate them up!

UPDATE: These freeze beautifully! Thaw in just 10 seconds in the microwave, or in a few minutes on the counter.
